Role
The Warehouse & Production Operator is a fully cross-trained operator who can run any station in the Orlando ROC. This is not a single-assignment warehouse job. On a given day this role may offload a container in the morning, run an inbound receiving station midday, feed the soap production line in the afternoon, and stage outbound pallets before close moving where the operation needs coverage as the day changes.
The role spans both sides of the operation. Warehouse: inbound receiving, outbound fulfillment, truck and container loading and unloading, forklift work, and inventory staging. Recycling production: sorting lines, contamination removal, feeding and tending soap and plastic processing equipment, and handling finished goods. Clean the World hires operators who can work every function rather than specialists who work one, and full proficiency across the operation is the expectation, not a bonus.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role for someone who works with judgment and urgency — reads the day’s priorities, executes to standard, handles routine problems at the station, and escalates only what genuinely requires a supervisor. It suits an experienced warehouse or production operator who wants range rather than repetition, and it is the bench from which Lead and Technician roles are filled.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to)
Cross-Functional Coverage
•Work any assigned station across warehouse and recycling production, shifting between functions during a shift as volume, staffing, and priorities change.
•Reach and maintain proficiency in every core function of the operation: inbound receiving, outbound fulfillment, truck loading and unloading, sorting, soap production, plastic processing, and inventory staging.
•Operate without step-by-step direction — pick up the day’s priorities and keep work moving when a supervisor is not at the station.
•Support and train newer team members on any station where proficiency has been demonstrated.
Inbound Receiving
•Receive inbound partner shipments per CTW policy: station prep, box scanning, weight capture, package classification, and gaylord aggregation.
•Capture impact data accurately at the point of scan — this data reaches hospitality partners in real time through the customer portal, so accuracy at the station is a customer deliverable, not a back-office correction.
•Identify non-compliant and non-standard shipments, handle them per SOP, and flag issues rather than working around them.
Outbound Fulfillment & Shipping
•Pick, assemble, and pack partner and NGO orders; build, wrap, and secure pallets to shipping standard so loads arrive undamaged.
•Prepare and process outbound shipments — labeling, verification against the batch, and staging for carrier pickup.
•Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently, coordinating directly with drivers and carriers.
Recycling Production
•Run sorting lines: contamination removal, material separation, and quality inspection to specification.
•Feed, tend, and change over soap production equipment — grinding, refining, extrusion, cutting, stamping, and packaging — holding output to quality standard.
•Support plastic processing: bottle shredding, dewatering line operation, shred handling, and storage.
•Monitor material and equipment during the run; make routine adjustments, recognize when something is running off-spec, and escalate mechanical issues with a clear description of the symptom.
Equipment Operation
•Operate forklift, pallet jack, floor scale, and other warehouse and production equipment safely and to certification standard.
•Complete daily equipment and safety checks; keep assigned equipment clean, charged or fueled, and in serviceable condition.
•Perform basic operator-level maintenance and report anything beyond that scope promptly.
Inventory & Warehouse Standards
•Stage and store inbound, in-process, and finished goods in designated locations per SOP.
•Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks; report discrepancies rather than adjusting on the fly.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and contribute to warehouse space optimization.
Safety & Quality
•Follow all safety standards, including proper PPE use, lockout/tagout where applicable, and safe material handling.
•Complete all assigned onboarding and recurring safety training on schedule; participate in bi-weekly safety meetings.
•Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately.
•Hold quality standards at every station — a defect caught at the station costs far less than one caught by a partner.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification required, or ability to certify within 30 days of hire.
- PPE trained and able to model correct use for others.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including occasional extended hours to meet shipment or production commitments.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production environment, with hands-on experience in more than one function — for example receiving and shipping, or production and material handling.
- Demonstrated forklift experience, including truck and container loading and unloading.
- Experience working to a daily production or shipment schedule with defined throughput and quality targets.
- Proven ability to work independently: takes direction once, executes to standard, and resolves routine problems at the station without supervisor involvement.
- Genuinely willing to rotate across stations and go where the work is, rather than owning a single task.
- Basic mechanical aptitude — able to make routine adjustments, recognize abnormal equipment behavior, and describe a problem clearly enough to act on.
- Basic computer and handheld-scanner literacy for receiving, labeling, and inventory transactions, with accuracy in data entry at the station.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in an industrial environment with heat, noise, and moving equipment.
